About the Author

Armed with an MFA in painting and nine hundred dollars, Ed Rath moved to New York City in 1977 to seek his fame and fortune as an artist. Through working as a carpenter and project manager, he supported his studio practice and also raised a family with his late wife Laura Gisondo.
Incorporating his experiences of living in New York with his Minnesota upbringing, his imagery projects a unique celebration of life, with all its frailties and uncertainties.
Rath has lectured and exhibited his work widely throughout the United States, and has shown in Japan and in Austria. He lives and paints in Brooklyn New York.
